Occupational Therapy (OT) is a client-centred health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational Therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement. (World Federation of Occupational Therapists, 2012)

This will depend on the individual, however as a guide, an assessment is on average between 1 and 1½ hours and a therapy session runs on average between 45-60 minutes. We don’t utilise shorter appointments as this simply doesn’t allow enough time for your OT to complete a thorough assessment.
This will depend on your needs and goals. Some clients need just one or two sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support.
We provide in-home assessments, equipment recommendations, minor home modifications, dementia support, cognitive assessments and more - all tailored to older adults. Please visit our services page to find out more.
